We were founded in 1945 in the heart of Emilia, the land of mechanics, industries and innovation. For over 80 years we have been manufacturing top quality asynchronous electric motors for engineering companies in many different fields. On our work benches, we develop high quality products, manufactured with care and fine attention to detail.
Most of our production is devoted to custom solutions, starting from drawings or specific requirements of our customers.
We supply customized technical solutions to meet our customers’ requirements. With several years' experience and significant investments in technology, we can propose a high-quality production of electric motors at competitive prices. We work in close cooperation with our customers, acting as a strategic external resource, aiming to create value and uniqueness.
Our main aim: to strengthen growth trends in Italy and significantly develop foreign markets in order to deliver exclusive products and services; to be recognized as an Italian excellence in the production of special asynchronous electric motors.
Cento, 1945. Giorgio Bonora founds Motori Bonora S.p.A. and begins to produce three-phase and single-phase asynchronous electric motors. For several years all processes are carried out within the company, where all production departments are developed: foundry, die-casting, stamping, winding, mechanical machining. This vertical development strategy is partially forced by the market low availability of components and semi-finished products.
In the early ’90 – aligned with the market evolution offering a wide net of highly specialized and competitive sub-suppliers – the company decides to operate a radical productive re-organization, relying on outside companies for foundry and basic workings, in order to concentrate on activities of design, mechanical workings and assembling. The most significant part of the production of electric motors is always represented by IEC standard motors.
In 1998 the company moves to its new plant in Via Reno Vecchio, which covers an area of 21,000 square meters, 7,000 of which are covered. The wide spaces available allow to carefully redesign the company's layout. Important resources are invested in the technical department and in the test room, to support its strategic business area: the creation of customized products, created according to specific customer requirements.
Motori Bonora is a small and medium sized company, highly specialized, tied to the family from which it takes its name. From the post-war period to today, control and management have always been the responsibility of the Bonora family, now in its second generation.

We work within an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality System. Particular attention is paid to monitoring data on Non-Compliances, together with the performance of production departments and suppliers: this is to ensure our customers full satisfaction in a context of continuous business improvement.
